EPS4 is now live at the practice

We are upgrading to the next phase of the Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) which will mean that almost all our prescriptions will be processed electronically from 14th April 2020. The NHS is phasing out all green prescriptions known as FP10.

EPS allows prescribers to send prescriptions electronically to a dispenser of the patient’s choice – known as their “nominated” dispenser. Whilst paper prescriptions will continue to be available in special circumstances, almost all prescriptions will be processed electronically. From the 14th April if you are a non-dispensing patient and do not have a nomination at a local pharmacy you will be now given an EPS token.

The EPS Token looks similar to the usual green EP10, but will need to be taken to a pharmacy to obtain your medication. Having a nomination will ensure you are able to pick up your prescriptions without needing to collect tokens each time. Please speak to a local pharmacist and make sure you’ve signed up.

All further information about EPS4 is on here

We are unable to take prescription requests over the phone except for known housebound patients.

If you have been given the repeat form on the right hand side of your prescription where at all possible but if you have lost this you can also use the slips at reception or use the online prescription service through this website.

All prescriptions take 48 working hours to be processed and are ready after 3pm on the second working day. We are happy to leave your prescription for one of our local chemists to collect from us on your behalf but suggest that you arrange this with them first to see when they are due to collect from us as this may increase the time until you receive your prescription. All pharmacy collection services are offered by the pharmacy involved. Please note we DO NOT routinely fax prescriptions.

If you wish to use a chemist not local to us please note that a SAE will need to be provided with the prescription request and please factor in the increased time of postage in to how soon you will receive your prescription.

If we are unable to provide a prescription for what ever reason we will try to contact you before the 48 hours have elapsed.
